There is one light rail line known as the G:Link that runs from Gold Coast University Hospital to Broadbeach South. The G:Link serves the suburbs of Surfers Paradise, Southport and Broadbeach with frequent services.
Commuter trains provide cheap transfers to Brisbane and the northern attractions, including Movie World, Dreamworld, Wet'n'Wild and the Australian Outback Spectacular. Gold Coast has six train stations and the train line is linked to the Queensland railway network. Currently, there are no direct trains lines to the beaches, but the nearest train stations are only 15 minutes drive.
Glod Coast buses form the backbone of the public transport, especially on the south coast where they are the only transport option. In additional to the regular bus routes, there are three express bus lines that connect the theme parks with different locations on the Gold Coast.
Gold Coast Airport (OOL) is located at the south part of the Gold Coast, around 25 km from Surfers Paradise and 100 km from Brisbane.
Bus route 777 will take you to Broadbeach South station, where you can change to the G:Link and reach Surfers Paradise or Southport. The bus departs every 15 minutes, while the service is available from 07:00 to 19:00. Bus route 760 connects Gold Cost Airport with Varsity Lakes Train Station.
Once you arrive, you can take an airport taxi from the designated ranks. Metered taxis are available at Gold Coast 24 hours a day. Additional charges may apply for tolls and booking.
